SD Starter rebuild kit 85 GSL-SE

Hi, The starter on my 85 GSL-SE is starting to get a bit stubborn about engaging sometimes (it spins but does not engage the flywheel to turn the engine over). I'm suspecting that there is an issue with the solenoid (dirt, etc.) that's causing this and I'd like to see if I can fix it rather than just replace it.

As long as I have it out and apart, I want to look at the brushes, etc. (it is, after all, almost 30 years old and has about 67,000 miles on it).

I've spent quite a bit of time doing searches but have been unable to find an application-specific rebuild kit (these typically have brushes, bearings and other wear parts in them). So I thought that maybe the vast experience available here would know either where I can get a rebuild kit for the factory stock GSL-SE starter or if there is a kit for another starter that has parts that will fit and work properly?

TIA

You can purchase a new starter drive (bendix) and a set of brushes from RockAuto

Thanks! I'll look into that.
