stalls when cold
I have an 86 na ad the car stalls when I first start it up in the morning or after several hours of sitting. I have to feather the gas to keep it running until it warms up? at first I thought it was the battery and alternator but I changed both still does it. I thought it was alternator cause I had batteries go dead on me. Any ideas?

Potentially a bad water thermosensor (back of water pump housing, green plug). Or it could be related to the thermoswitch on the bottom corner of the radiator. Both give the ECU temperature data, which is used to adjust fuel. The thermoswitch, in particular, also affects startup fuel when the temperature is below ~65*F.
