Stalling when Down-Shifting

Hi,

I have a 1985 GSL-SE and whenever I am down-shifting, my car likes to stall which of course shuts off my power steering. This is quite frightening and I cannot figure out what the problem is. I've noticed that if I let the engine slow down and down-shift, I tend to stay connected. If at any point I punch my clutch, the engine just dies. Has anyone had this issue in a 1st-gen? And if so, any idea on what the issue is? Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Eric

Do you have the ac on, and gsl-se is fuel injected right? If the ac is on it could be dragging the motor down to stall. My fc was doing that until I got my tps adjusted correctly, with a little throttle body adjustment, but probably just tweaking your tps will work if its the ac.

Now that you mention the AC, I've noticed that I do have less stalling when my AC is off. And yes, the car is fuel-injected. I will try and adjust the tps. Thanks littlebit421!
