Stalling
My son picked up an all original "85" RX7 GL. I am new to Rotary engines, but not of my own doing. 35Cu Inx2, carb, automatic. I stalls so bad its not safe to drive. Car has 73,000 miles on it, and sat in a garage for a long time. I was told to turn a screw on front of carb under air cleaner, and then another at the base of card, spark plug side. I refernced from orginal, but stiil I made things worse. In my research I have gathred the engine live asd dies by vaccuum system. Where would I even start!

I'm of no use on 1st gens but Pineapple is near you if you need a pro to look at it.

Check the FAQ threads for info on adjusting the carb while you wait for others to chime in on this thread.

First, if the car has been sitting for a long time, rebuild the carb, change fuel filter and remove the rats nest if your state does not have smog. Then when your connecting the vaccum lines after the rats nest has been removed, use new hoses and use new plugs to plug the unused vaccum ports in the crab. Also check the brake booster vaccum line and any other rubber line that you see, check for cracks, drying out and all the common sense stuff, if you think its bad, change it for a new one. Do all that and if problem persist, try and shoot a video and that would help to trouble shoot and move into the 1st gen technical section, there is tons of help there that is not received here as not every 1st gen owner comes to the new rx7 owner technical to help. good luck
