MS Spring Compatibility

I have a 91FC and i was am wanting to lower it with Miata springs! I was wondering if anyone has tried this before or if it is possible?

Sounds like a great way to mess up the spring rates, and that's if they'll even fit properly. Just buy springs made for an RX-7. Racingbeat sells some specifically for convertibles that have a 0.8" drop. There are also others like Tannabe GF-210s, which have a 1.5" drop.

i really just wanna know if they will fit because i'm tired of driving a convertible mazda monster truck.lol....i just wanna know if they will fit i don't care if it rides like ****.

your car will corner like poo.. it will drop your height also a little too much for comfort.. a good drop is about a 1.75 on a fc rx7.. on a fd you can slam it to 2.5

trust me on this

No they won't fit. the Miata springs are too narrow. RotaryRocket888's advice was spot on.

well i'm trying to make the fc ballin on a budget and a buddy of mine has the miata springs and we were just curious and before i went through the trouble of wasting my time i joined this forum because i'm new to this whole rotary thing but am beginning to like it. Also how can you check to see if you apex seal is good i heard this is the worst thing to happen in these cars.

Do a compression test. Preferably have a rotary shop with a Mazda compression tester do it. Otherwise you can use one of testers for piston engines. There are a few threads about compression testing somewhere on here if you want to research that further. Its a pita to do it yourself so I always get a shop to do it. Not sure what options you have in Biloxi though...
