Speedo is completely wrong
Hi, so i've just picked up my rx7 and one issue with it is the speedo is completely out. I was aware of this issue and a few others on buying but they where reflected in the price and i budgeted getting them fixed.
I was doing 70mph (according to the sat nav) but the speedo was telling me i was doing 120mph.
This is an issue i want to get fixed asap. Would there be anything in particular causing this to happen. The car has been fitted with 18'' alloys so i guess that would throw it out a bit but i wouldn't imagine by that much.
Im going to take it to a garage to get it fixed but i just wanted to no what the main problems are that would cause this.
Thanks

Tis indeed. The speedo reads nearly 200kph though when in doing 70mph.
Would it be possible that it could simply be the wrong dial face? Just because i reset the trip to 0km on my journey home and ive done roughly 83miles traveling today and the trip is now reading 134km which is roughly 83 miles
The car is an import so im thinking one of the previous owners could have changed the dial face from kph to one that reads in mph.

Are your importers supposed to change the speedo?
one option may be to source a speedo or full cluster locally or here from the US and install that to replace yours.
