So if injector/engine buildup cleaner helped a lot, what's the next step?
My friend recommended I use BG 44K to try and clear up my rough idle/loss of power issues, and so far I've noticed quite an improvement, mostly in that the car doesn't crap out NEARLY as much anymore. It still has a bit of trouble, but when it does struggle, it clears up much quicker. What should be my next step in diagnosing/fixing the problem?
Pull the injectors and get them ultrasonically cleaned. That's the next step up in injector servicing.
That said, you haven't provided information to support whether injector cleaning is necessary. What kind of car do you have? Can you describe what the symptoms are?

I have a 1987 NA. Basically, my car will be running normally, and then drops into a very irregular idle. It will struggle immensely to get up to 3000 RPM, coughing and sputtering all along the way. Once the secondaries kick in at 4000 it gets a lot more power, but sub-4000, it has no power at all. This was a HUGE problem before, but since I used the additive, it doesn't happen nearly as often or as severely, and usually clears up after a few minutes of driving.
My dad (who is currently loaning me the repair money) suggests we just buy new ones. He came up with a probable cost of $400 or so to get new ones... I personally don't want to spend the extra cash if I can get them cleaned for around $100 (Witchunter). Would there be any benefit in replacing them outright?

It's ridiculous to buy new injectors when they rarely fail and a local shop can clean them for about $20 a piece.
Getting the injectors cleaned is a good step, but may not solve the problem. A full tuneup is a place to start, and make sure to clean out the BAC valve as well. Check the condition of the wiring around the CAS.
