Smog

So after i finally got my FC running, I took it in to get smogged for the first time.

Well, it failed. Because the idle was too high-1100 to be exact.

It's weird because before i brought it in, it was idling at about 700 which is where it needs to be.

It also dumped coolant on their nice rubbery floor.

Any advice for what I should do next?

Hope and pray, you are in CA!

For starters fix your coolant issue, what caused it to spill all the coolant? A leak or did it just start shooting out.

You can adjust the air bypass screw on the throttlebody as a temporary fix. But a whole lot of things can work together to make your idle change. TPS, variable resistor, throttle cable, vacuum leaks, bad grounds, etc...

It just starts dripping after a certain amount of time of running, and then it progressively gets worse.

And yes, I am in CA.

Man. That sucks. Im sorry. Im lucky, i live about 5 miles past the smog line.

Not to rub it in your face or anything.

As far as the coolant leak. If its leaking, and EVERYTHING looks wet, you can buy some dye, you put in the coolant. Run it for a short bit, then shut it off. You use a blacklight, and it lights it up neon yellow. Really nice for finding leaks on wet areas.

You need to find where its dripping and fix it, sounds like a bad hose.

you might need to replace your cat if its old.
replace fuel filter and spark plugs.

I agree with the others on the coolant issue. Fix it ASAP

Well, I traced the the source of the coolant and it seems to be coming from behind the fan- like on the front of the water pump.

i think ill just take it to a mazda shop.
