which? single or twins s5 in a 1400lb car
Have a lotus seven clone with a 13b na and weber 48, have a s5 turbo 2 engine and a haltech e6x, also have a set of fd twins in good shape, My question is what should I do , stay with the stock s5 single that is in good shape or switch to sequential twins either with the fds or with a set of subi ej8 that i have. also was thinking that the pair of vnt15s that i have would be nice but understand that they may not be up to the heat. have the fabrication capabilities and lots of early 70s outdated experience, am looking for a smooth power band, with the light weight and 4.10 gears low end torque is not as important as smooth transition. thanks for a wonderful site have already received a wealth if information here.

Definitely avoid the FD sequential twins. You don't need the complexity and they do not make for a smooth powerband.
I'd recommend sticking with something simple like the stock S5 turbo or a small responsive aftermarket piece.

OK thanks all. Will stick with the stock S5 turbo for now and research what improvements can be made. Water/meth injection will be high on my list. will also look into different manifolds that may fit in the car. Was leaning this way and that no one is championing the twins sealed it, car is light- keep it simple thanks to all.

There's no real reason to run any kind of aux injection on an S5 turbo assuming you have a reasonable intercooler and aren't pushing into some crazy boost. The turbo starts to just blow hot air around 13-14 PSI anyway, so you won't gain anything by increasing the boost past that point.
