Purchasing first 1984 RX7 GSL - does anyone know what a basic rebuild engine costs and how many shop hours to expect for installation (just ballpark)?

if its the 13b (might be 12a) then expect about 900.00 for a good rebuild kit and about 25-40 shops hours this was quoted from a local rotary specialist the hours atleast

 

Alldata gives 8.2 hours to R&R engine including transferring parts onto rebuilt engine, and 20.1 to overhaul the longblock, Includes: Disassemble & Clean Engine, Service All Internal Components. Obviously this is a guide, as different engine suffer different damages.

Yes I hear a wide range of hours....from 8-40. Obviously car and rebuild particulars playing a part.
