Shipping an Engine
Shipping an Engine
I've got a newly rebuilt 13B Turbo ready by Pineapple racing. I'm listing it in a few different places. Has anyone in the forum shipped this type of engine and how so? Any information would be helpful.
Cover any openings, wrap it in cellophane packing material create a cradle out of 2x4s and strap it to a half pallet with ratchet straps eye-bolted to it. Any LTL freight will be able to carry it.
For someone that does not ship very often, I found that JB Hunt 360, https://www.jbhunt.com/technology/shipper-360, was easy to use and reasonably priced. When trying to ship a pallet or smaller but weight is a concern. they worked out great. I shipped an FB trans, flywheel, and other parts to convert an automatic to manual. They came to my house to pick up the create I made. It was about 1/2 pallet size but completely enclosed. Me and my son lifted it in to my pickup and me and the driver lifted it from there to his truck. Had to pay for "lift gate" service on the buyers side. It cost just below $400 to ship from Missouri to Florida.
