Shifter ****

i have purchased a new shifter **** for my 1985 rx7. i can't seem to get the old one off. anybody have any ideas????

Well, on the couple I've dealt with, there's usually a set screw near the base that takes a metric allen head wrench to loosen up...then the **** screws off the shifter shaft.

Pull the leather shifter cover down. There's a nut under the **** that needs to be loosened, then the **** simply unscrews by hand.

thank you. i figured out the nut but it was a little stuck on there... a little wd-40 took care of that
