Several question's from a new owner

Hello there,

I read some pages and tried searching but the list is to much extended for each of my doubts.

I own a RX7 Efini FD3S from year 1993, it is the European version which according to a previous owner, it is the world's best, having Touring and R1 extras..

I'm not only new to driving a RX7 but also to a car with Turbo(s), I would like to hear some driving tips, specially for the RX7 where a friend said that one turbo is for low RPM and the other starts around 4500/5000 RPM?

I noticed that the hood at around 120kmh more, seem's to wave a bit to much. Is this normal? Any simple thing I can do to avoid this to happen that doesn't make me spend more money?

The car came with a APEXI FC Commander which I don't know how to "play" with or have the manual. Right now it have on display "monitor / settings / etc"; I would like to basically monitor the temperatures, not sure what kind it shows. I'm afraid to touch and mess something.

PS: with this Commander, is still useful to install a Turbo Gauge to control thing's or this will also indicate me the information? Looking for a bit of reliability information to be alert.

The ABS Sensor is going to be replaced, I'm waiting the previous owner to send me the new one ordered. I would like to know where it is located if it is standard. A photo would help me tons, since some words in english may be tricky to me.

I've decided to replace the interior lights (on the roof) by LED's. I would like to know is there is a How To explaining how to remove the plastic piece so I don't broke it.

Thank you in advance everyone

nice ride

ABS sensors are in the hubs behind the wheels and you will have to know what wheel you need to replace the sensor in.

turbo gauge to control things? Are you referring to a boost controller such as an HKS EVC or similar? these just allow you to increase the boost higher than the wastegate would allow. Or are you referring to a wideband 02 sensor? this would allow you to monitor your air fuel ratio and can be utilized by some ecu's and piggyback systems.

This is your first turbo car so i would recommend doing a google search on turbochargers and how they operate. For the most part theres not much difference in how they operate on most every car and for vehicle specific reading check out www.fd3s.net you might even find the pdf manual for the commander there.

Hi there and thanks

About the Turbo Gauge, my objective is to be able to see anytime its pressure and know that values are normal. In case they weren't I would be alerted to check what's going on before it could turn worse

Not sure if with the APEXI I can also see this. Checking the manual, seem's I can..

I think he means boost gauge. I have a steering column pod. I like the view of it since its right in front of my stock gauges. I have a defi racer red gauge (Looks amber like the stock gauges). Rx7store.net and pettit racing sells them.
