S5 Questions

Hi all,

I have a Series 5 turbo engine and have just done the rats nest removal, for the turbo oil inlet pipe what can be done to replace the rats nest one as it is welded to the rest of the harness? also there is a pipe on the centre plate on a right angle, what is this for?

Thanks

You can cut the oil feed off of the rats nest. Or make your own line.

The nipple on the center iron you speak of is most likely the purge line for the PCV system.

No, you need the purge system to be in working order to remove vapours from the crankcase and prevent pressure build up. At the minimum, it should be plumbed to a catch can.

The S5 fuel rails have a built in regulator. You will need to cut the end off of the rail, drill out all the junk inside, then weld on a fitting to use your aftermarket regulator.

The S4 rails are cast aluminum with thread in fittings. However, they don't fit under the S5 intake manifold.
