S5 NA Engine Harness Routing
I broke the cardinal rule of engine teardown: I didn't take pictures while disassembling my motor. Now I'm struggling to figure out the correct harness routing so that I can reach the injectors, the idle air control valve and the TPS.
I've searched the forum, but haven't found any pictures showing the reassembly of the intake.
I'm building up an engine for an ITS car - off road only, header, removed 6 port actuators, removed vacuum tree ... I just want to keep the idle air and the TPS, and all sensors necessary for the stock ECU to continue to run correctly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've built multiple 12As, but this is my 1st 2nd gen rebuild. Wow, is the wiring a bit more complex!

I can give you the rough path it takes. From the passenger strut-tower, the harness runs up and over the front iron, where it takes a turn towards the oil filler. The emissions solenoid connectors are along here. The wiring for the injectors, 02 sensor & main sensor ground come off the end by the oil filler, and then turn back towards the injectors.

Thanks for the response. What has me confused is from the point you mentioned - connected to the primary injectors, does the harness go under the fuel rail, or over? Does it somehow pass over the intermediate intake manifold? How does the harness lay such that it can reach the injectors, the BAC, and the TPS, and secondary injectors?

This is a picture of an S4 TII engine, but the routing is similar. The primary injector are a straight shot from the emissions solenoid area, and the secondary injector wires split off from here. Instead of being on the inside of the LIM, as shown here, NA secondaries will be on the outside of the UIM. The path is the same; the wires double back near where the harness started along the front iron, and then wrap around the outside to connect to the secondaries.
The TPS and BAC connectors will come off of the harness somewhere along the part that goes over the front iron. As for whether you route things under or above rails, etc..., I'd suggest going under anything you can.

Thank you so much. To start off, I believe I've got the injectors facing the wrong way with the connectors aimed toward the oil injectors, which may be the reason the harness is so stretched. I get to work on it again tomorrow night. I'll let you know how it all goes together!
