S5 Ignition Question. Just want to verify.
Long story short: Another FC that won't start.
89 FC N/A 5-spd.
Drove the car to work fine. It was warmed up and 0 warning lights active. Parked at the 7-11 and went inside to grab monster. When I came out car car would not start. Starter makes one loud click/clunk as if the gear extends but doesn't spin the flywheel.
Done the following: New Battery. Replaced Grounds. New Starter bench tested: Good. Voltage on starter power stud from battery good. Verified ignition switch voltage. Starter cut relay under the hood is working properly. Also turned engine by hand (just in case).
Yet the issue persists.

Am I right in thinking I can bypass the relays, cpu based antitheft, and clutch interlock by simple running a wire from the B/R wire on the ignition switch straight to the starter solinoid tab? Properly deleting the old wire and taping it up of course.
