S5 3.9 Open diff to GTUs 4.3 LSD
Hello 7 club, this is my first post on these forums so pardon me in advance if I'm in the wrong place or make any errors.
I have a 1990 GTU Automatic with the standard 3.9 in them and I'm about to acquire a diff from a GTUs to swap. I did some research previous to posting this but I want to make sure I can straight up replace the diff with everything else fitting. That being the axles, driveshaft, etc.
Axle stubs on s5 lsds are unequal length correct to accommodate the lsd? Would the axles from my car bolt up assuming I buy and throw in the 4.3 diff with its unequal stubs? Thank you in advanced.

Could you clarify what you are swapping? The whole rear end or just the differential itself?
If the complete rear end then you just take yours out and put the rear end from the GTUs in. Your axles bolt right to it as does the driveshaft.
If only replacing the diff and gears then you have put the pinon gear for the 4.3 gearset from the GTUs in your housing then the diff with the 4.3 ring gear in your hosing and set the backlash. After getting the housing put back together then you use the unequal length stub shafts. once they are installed and you get the rear end back in the car everything (axles, driveshaft) bolts right up.
