S4/S5 Frankencar

RX8 guy trying to get into the n/a FC.

I found a 90 S5 coupe that is in great mechanical condition. Newly rebuilt engine by a professional rotary shop. Only problem is the body is rusting away to nothing and after a few fender benders the front of the car is literally bent a bit. Plus little things here and there like rough suspension (bushings are shot) and missing interior peices.

Needlesss to say i dont want to spend the time on all the bodywork requred to make the car "nice"

There is a 88 S4 coupe for sale with a blown engine but in good body condition.

Obviously i would need to swap the engine, transmission, and harness for the S5 into the S4 plus the other auto-> manual parts. I have no problem if i would have to strip the S4 down to the body but would prefer to avoid such things.

Swapping in the auto seatbelts and other S5 novelties would ne nice too.

So should i just expect to rip the S4 down to the metal? or is there an easier way?
