s4 na swap to a turbo

i have a 86 rex and wanted to know everything involved in doin a turbo swap... like trannies drivetrain the whole nine yards that would havta be changed...and could i build up a na block to a turbo block since i have an extra laying around....thanks

You need to do a lot of research.

The easiest thing to do is to swap in a turbo motor of the same series.

You don't have to change the whole drivetrain, but its a very very very very very very good thing to do.

If you search around for turbo swap its been covered many times.


As far as turboing your n/a, everything has to be custom fabricated. If you have the skills and the knowhow it may be a good idea, if you don't then stick to a turbo swap.

ok i have a tranny as well the kid said its a turbo tranny bbut im not sure ho can i find out plus can i just build that tranny to handle what i wana do which is ashieve four hundred horsepower unles thats unrealist lol

The turbo transmission has a large inspection plate on the bottom. The NA transmission doesn't and just has a drain plug.
