Question S2 turbo info required

Hi All,

This may be a stupid to some but here goes;

I have a RX7 twin turbo but I am also into 4WD-ing I have a serious off roader I read about another off roader down south who is using a S2 turbo on his 4.2 Nissan diesel in winch challenges and it goes like stink.
I have decided to do the same mainly because I got a S2 turbo for free I am having a top mount manifold made up now.
What I need to know is;
What are oil lines and what are water, SO,If the turbo was sitting as a top mount exhast to the rear, What are the 2 top lines?? ie; the cloest one to the motor, also is the large botten line oil return.
many thanks
Graham

What is an S2 turbo?

The water lines come from the lower intake manifold and then end up at the water pump housing. When you disconnect them, they will drip water.

The oil feed line comes from the front iron. The drain line then leads to the front cover.

I suggest you check the FAQ and download a copy of the FSM for your model year. It will cover all of this basic information.

You are not quite clear with your answer;

For a start the turbo when I got it had no oil or water lines bolted on it exept the large one at the bottem and I'm sure thats the oil return, If I could find a single turbo RX7 to check what was water and oil I would not be putting this post on,
So if the bottem line is oil return there are 2 top lines and 1 on the side of the turbo,
Is the line on the side of the turbo oil or water???? We think the top line closest block is water and the other is oil can anyone confurn this?? and it's off a 1990 RX7

Wait, you want to put a 2nd gen turbo on a 3rd gen? Why?

On the TII turbo, the top line is oil feed. Bottom is oil drain. The two side fittings are coolant.

Of course he couldn't be clear with his answer. You provided no information to go on, so it was anyone's guess what you were trying to do / ask.

And a 2nd gen turbo will not flow well enough for the port size on a 3rd gen engine. You would be much better off with even the stock FD twin turbos rigged to spool simultaneously (for simplicity).

It must be true, Yanks are thick!!!

I dont know how much clearer I could have been, But then again I'm a KIWI form New Zealand, I said it's from a 1990 RX7 single turbo S2 . I have mananaged to find a car club here in New Zealand that has a couple of RX7's single turbo's, AND I gave them the same info as I posted on line ,, They replyed and they even jpeged a diagram of where the lines go ,No problems,,,
I could not see what was so hard , I have even been talking to a single turbo RX7 owner here in NZ and he went on line to see what I had posted and said it was a straight forward question, Well I wont say what he said

Your terminology is different from ours.

First, all '90 RX-7s are single turbo.

I don't know what "S2" refers to but around here a 90 is an S5.

As I mentioned, the diagram of the turbo oil and coolant lines is in the FSM.

And please don't call me a "Yank". Canada is not the US.
