rx7 s5 Ideas needed!
I'm have what seems to be the same issue. last week i went out to my fc and it started right up like any other normal day, but then it randomly killed after backing out of the driveway. it hasnt started sense. It's getting spark, it has compression, and it gets fuel. iv replaced the fuel pump (walbro 255), fuel filter, and I'm about to switch out injectors. the motor just turns over, but doesnt want to run on its own. I'm running out of ideas :/ I dont run synthetic! (gtx 20w-50 and never had a problem with it in years.)

don't forget to check your timing too? if you're getting fuel, spark, and have compression, then it should start? hey just a thought, you can try spraying some starter fluid in the throttle body too? i was also told that wd4o works for this too?

Great news everyone! after ripping all my intake manifolds off, then throwing it all back together while cleaning everything i felt like clean along the way. i got my rx7 to start today. it revs through the RPMs nicely and drove fine, it doesnt like to idle. with my foot off the gas, it'll drop to idle, sit for a few seconds, then kill. Plus it has a hard time starting still. i dont feel i've fix my problem. it use to start up with ease. any ideas? im gunna try timing it tomorrow.

hmmmmm
it realy sounds like a fuel filter problem or maybe water in the gas.... try to add some (stable) fuel treatment. but if itll run with ur foot on the gas and not idle its getting spark so its not electrical i think its either a filter or maybe a vacuum. have u checked the vacum lines

If the pump doesn't supply adequate pressure the injector will stream fuel instead of mist fuel, If the fuel isn't vapor, but liquid, it will NOT ignite even with spark. "noid light an injector to verify pulse also. Fuel pressure check with guage after filter might give a clue which way to go next too."O"

did u try re-adjust the idling screw on the throttle manifold after u re-installed it?? Is this car a turbo... if so u could check to see if the intercooler lines are clamped or cracked.. and the vacum lines.. tps could also be ur problem

More rx7 s5 Ideas needed!
Okay, this is more of an update to some other postings I've left. A couple weeks ago my rx7 randomly shut off on me after backing out of the driveway. It didnt start for a week and i could figure out why. well a few days ago i got it to start. it didnt start right up like it use to tho. i had a friend jumping me and still it fought to run on its own. When it did run, it rev smoothly through the RPMs and drove strong, BUT it would try to kill at idle if i didnt keep giving it at least a little bit of gas. I could shut it off and start it bad up after it was wormed up, but again, not with ease. I've been checked every vacuum hose, connector, and plug. everything seems fine. I've even put a new fuel filter, fuel pump, and gone so far as to rip apart the intake to clean the injectors and check for leaks. I was gunna time it, but i havent been able to get it start again to do it. Im out of ideas guys. help... please.
