rx7 and mice smell
hi this is my first post and i am going to start off with the nightmare i came to 3 days ago.
When going to take out my 1989 gxl from storage when opening the door a foul odour smacked me in the face harder than a shovel. however this was the least of my worries after three years not on the road my worry was to get it started. I continue to check all my fluids connecting a new battery all seemed fine until i opened my air filter box where a mother field mouse was sitting with a nest. Put it this way my next 24 hours was spent making sure every one of those mice where murdered! now i am left with this unbearable smell in my car.
I have cleaned the whole car out and sprayed out my vets getting two nests out and 2 dead mice however there is still a small linger of odour i am in dier need of advice as the companys who do dash removal are unwilling to work on my car in my area one cause theu are unfamilia with the car and dont want to break any thing and the others who do wont work on it knowing that it was mice i could lie i supose now that the smell is pretty much gone however i rather be honest with someone working on my car becasue i rather them not get pissed when they find something not expected any advice would be appreciated thanks

I did a whole convertable that had sat for 3 years..it smelled of pee all over.
I used Simple Green and literally took the whole interior apart.
The sound deadening in the truck was just unbelievable.
Driving down the road you would still get the whiff of MOUSE.I never could get rid of the smell..but I got rid of the car!

They seem to like HVAC systems. If you can get the heater core out w/o removing the dash it might be worth it. Otherwise, shampoo and wash everything that you can, including carpet. Baking soda everywhere, let sit for a few days and then vacuum. Even then, as styx mentioned, you'll probably have some lingering odor, especially after the car sits closed-up for a while.
On a side-note...some attention to punctuation and spelling is a plus here. Perfection isn't needed, but you don't want a reader to work too hard. They might have an answer but just give up before sharing it.
