welcome to the board.

i'm not sure how much help you're going to get with this one. i would imagine someone out there has done an honest-to-god HID conversion, but it is by no means commonplace.

my guess is the OEM wiring and electrical system would require serious upgrades or you'll be flirting with trouble.

for lighting, i think most people (myself included) opted to with better bulbs, basically getting rid of the sealed beam bulbs.

You should be able to get Hella round lamp conversion housings and run higher wattage and brighter bulbs.
If you take the Stock wiring and make a harness to the lighting you can Relay each of the LO and HI circuits to accept the extra power.
You would only be using the Stock wiring then to power the relays which in turn would supply the Voltage from your 12 volts(from Bat+) to turn the lights on.
I did it for my FC and it works great.

if i'm not mistaken, Black Dragon sells a harness that plugs into the stock harness that does just that.

I recently installed led h4 bulbs in my hella lamps. I am delighted by the illumination, and the draw is only 35 wants I think.
