Rx7 first custom build

Hey .. well im new to the forum so im just trying to get some opinions.

I want to rebuild a rx7 3rd gen from the back and front clips that i have, some may say i can buy a shell, but im in the caribbean and full rx7 shells are hard to come by, and i cant import one because of import laws of this damn country ... any whoo i was thinking to just pay a body shop to weld the clips together and when they are done just do a neat tube frame inside (i want to use it as a daily driver) so the piping cant be all over the place like a normal tube chassis ... i was more thinking along the lines of doing the perimeter of the shell and weling to the frame itslef and the tube will run up the A pillar and down the back.. any opinions or comments are accepted .. im sorry if this is a noob question but this is a project i really want to do
<below is a pic of the back clip before i bought it>

sorry for the long wordy post
any tips or advice will be greatly appreciated!
Jerad

That's how people used to get the Skylines into the US back in the day.
It can be done. With good welding and reinforcement inside the "A" Piller and lower frame
you can get away without the cage.

I say go for it. A cage can't hurt at this point.

As a matter of fact the 4 rotor bmi drift car was two crashed rx8s welded together. Go for it!
