Rx7 FD boost problem

I have a fully factory 1996 rx7, car feels fast and feels like it’s boosting normally when starting from 2-5k rpm to redline, but if I’m driving at like 5-7k rpm aggressively then when I plant it I feel like I have no power. Don’t have any gauges in the car so can’t tell 100% what doing on but the turbos are definitely spooling during this time.

Can't really diagnose a potential boost problem without a way of seeing what the boost is. You don't need a full blown boost gauge. Just something to T in so you can see pressure. You can run a vacuum line to a gauge and sit it on the windshield or something if you wanted.

ok thanks I’ll do that next time I play around with it, anything in particular I should be looking for? Any known issue that it could be related to? Thanks

It could be a LOT of things. It sounds like you might have a sequential control issue with the secondary turbo. The retaining clip and arm fell off my turbo control actuator once. At transition it would make a funny sound and I'd have very little power.

If you haven't figured out your issue by now, there's a lot of learning that can be done here on sequential turbo operation.
