RX 7 virgin - Finland
Hey!
I just bought my very first RX 7. It's an 2nd generation GT-X FC and I'm already thinking that it does not like the freezing temperatures here in Finland.
When I went to southern Finland to get the car, it worked perfectly. Then when me and my friend started to load it up on a trailer the battery died. Well we desided to give it some power by jump starting it with my friends carbattery. Well I guess my friend wasn't paying enough attention cause he connected the wires upside down. The main fuse burned and the car would not start (suprise).
Well after battling it out for a good two hours we finally got the car on to the trailer and drove back home. I changed the main fuse just the other day and after re-charging the battery the car started like nothing ever happened. I could sleep well at last! Or that's what I thought.
I went to the garage yesterday and tried to start the car up. Nothing, absolutely nothing. The rotors spin but it's far from starting. That's when I noticed a strange sound coming from the engine. Every time I put on the power (put the key in) a rambling sound appears. It sounds like a relay going on and off very fast. The sound stops when I put the gaspedal all the way down and continues when I take my foot of the pedal. Could this mean that there is something wrong with the fuelpump?
Ps. It's -22 celsius over here!

Well now after reading some of the threads from this site (wich rules btw) the answer to the fact that the car does not start could be flooding. We did indeed run the car for short periods at the garage after chancing the fuse (about 2-3 times for 30 secs to a minute).
But that still doesn't explain the radling sound.
Well better get started on drying up the engine and cleaning the sparkpluggs.

When the car is started it is best to run the car until it is completely warmed up before you entertain ideas of turning the engine off. This will help to minimze flooding. As far as the clicking sound try to locate the sound and it might be coming from the Main Relay located near the fire wall and driver side fender. Normally the relay clicks once with key to on. The pressing of the gas pedal would not affect this particular relay though so that is a bit puzzling. Disconnecting both plugs to this relay and turning the key to on would help to determine if it is this relay or something powered by this relay. The clicking might also be coming from the starter solenoid but only if the key were held to start and not to on. I don't know if the fuel injectors can click with just the key to on but maybe someone else knows the answer to this.
EDIT: Disconnect the 4 wire plug to the Main Relay first and turn the key to on and listen for the clicking you mention. If the clicking persists then turn the key to off while you disconnect the two wire plug to this relay then turn the key back to the on position and see if the clicking still occurs.

It so god damn cold here that I cant do any bigger engine checks so I was going to repair the drivers side seatbelt.
Now I have come across a problem with the rear panel that must be removed if you want to get your hands on the seatbelt mechanism. I have losen the screws and popped a couple of the doors side holders but now the panel wont move.
I can pul it for a couple of centimeters but then it just stops. Are there some kind of special holders or does it just need some brute force?
Thought it's good to ask cause I realy dont wanna break my baby.
