I have a 1991 Mazda RX-7 that just stopped running. It has about 136000 miles on the engine. It was running great one day, and was parked for 1 week. I went to start it and it would not start. I had a mechanic check it out and he says the engine died. According to him, there is no compression. I don't think he knows anything about rotary engines because he kept talking about pistons. There are no pistons in a rotary engine. dave.webb1@gmail.com[/EMAIL]
Dave, keep that guy far far and very far away from your car!
i think it's just flooded what will explain the loss of compression. Do the de-flooding procedure which is explained very well in the FAQ section and it probably will fire up again.
I don't want to go to the "worst case scenario" yet. First try this and if it still won't fire up then look further.
good luck!

I agree with Marx when it comes to keeping those kinds of people away from these cars. It seems that a lot of times the information mechanics claim to know about rotaries, is a bunch of crazy BS. It is best to learn as much as you can about these cars, and perform your own maintenance.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to perform a compression test.
