MA Running lights wont turn on

Someone flashed me with their high's the other night, so I checked, and sure enough, my rear running lights(parking lights?) don't turn on when my headlights do. I checked all the fuses in the engine bay and driver compartment, and they all look to work fine. So far i'm using the push button parking lights(backup lights?) that someone else installed at night so I don't get in too much trouble, with the 5-oh if they hassle me.

Can someone help me out?

checked 2 fuse boxes, and no broken fuses, light bulbs don't have broken filaments, break lights DO turn on, running lights don't.

This happened to me last week, ended up being a bad connection at the light switch connector.

Your problem likely lies within the headlight switch and or headlight switch harness. The Red/Black wire at this harness switch should receive power when the light switch is flipped to the first position. Do your dash lights work? And the Illumination fuse is the fuse that powers this circuit.

yes, so the interior lights, breaks, dash, blinkers, hazards and headlights all work fine. So when i first made this post, i was/am still struggling with terminology. After figuring out that it was looking for was Tail Lights, I was able to search for my answer better.

I still havent gotten a chance to pull everything apart and look inside, and pull out the headlight switch/harness, are all of these things easy to remove? or should I worry about something trickey and easy to break?

Since you're dealing w/plastic just be careful especially when putting things back together related to tightening the screws. When you gain access to the switch look for apparent damage to the Red/Black wire.

Yes the plastic is brittle from years of heat and sun. If you mess up the new switch is expensive.
