Rpms on tach not working

Parked my fc3c last night, started it this morning, now the tach is showing 0 rpms. I'm like pretty sure the engine is spinning faster than that. Just got the car like 3 days ago so not too familiar with it, I want to lean towards leading coil failure but I'd like to make sure its not something easier (and cheaper) to fix first.

welcome to the board.

the tach comes off the trailing coil (the one closer to the firewall), so i would probably start there.

if you need a copy of the FSM, try here: Foxed.ca

Thanks for the info, it fixed itself like an hour later and hasn't had any problems since (a bit more worrying in my opinion), I'll try new coils if it drops consistently.

I would highly doubt its the coil itself. It wouldn't quit working and then magically come back. Probably something in the wiring. Corrosion at a connector causing a failing connection, or loss of ground or a wire thats thin or exposed.
