CO Rotary Newbie with questions

I've been reading posts on this site for a while now, and I must say, there are some seriously knowlegeable folks here. Your posts have helped me immensely to get my rotary this far. Hope y'all can help with this one.
I have an 84 GSL-SE that won't stay running longer than 2 or 3 minutes. The fuel system has been completely cleaned out and the injectors have been sent for cleaning.
However, I installed them today and after running for a short time, the car died. Started again, same result. I popped the hood and found an injector leaking. When I removed it, the o-ring was torn. Easy to figure that leak. When I removed the injectors to have them cleaned, they had a rubber grommet on the lower section near the nozzle. When I received them back, the grommet was not included. Though the nozzle was a different style/design.
My question is this......Does the injectors need this lower grommet or does the new style of nozzle allow for proper function without the grommet?
Thanx in advance.

The lower grommet seals the injector into the diffuser. Without it, there will be a massive vacuum leak. It will help a little if you can post pictures of the injectors are they currently are set up.
