Respray wich colour suits an 1986 s4 best ?
I would like some feedback about paint.
Colour / brand / effect / ...
Doesnt have to be original paint
the poll are my three fav original colours
factory paint is red, but full repaint needed due to welding :-(

Black is difficult to keep clean.
Red will get you into trouble with the authorities. (At least here in the states it will.)
White is perfect. (Effect: VERY glossy)
As for brand... I am not familiar with the brands of paint in Belgium. I assume you'd be able to get a hold of some PPG, though.

Reds not THAT bad here. Most cops don't even know what an rx7 is or what you can do with it unles it has a giant "TURBO II" sticker on it lol. My S5 vert is red and it's a good neutral color as far as dirt and wash/wax goes. The dirt usually has to be decently thick on it before you notice it, and when you was n' wax it, it gets very shiny in the sun. It will also show less swirl marks from electric buffers if you over-buff it a little as opposed to black. Black can look beautiful if taken care of properly, but it will show EVERYTHING that gets on the damn thing lol. White is the better choice as far as dirt and swirls go, but it won't be as lustrous as black or red would be after WnW. If you have the time to take care of it, go black, otherwise go with either of the other 2.

I love the color red, but I am a sucker for a white FC... Making my opinion kind of bias.
Red paint is more expensive. (See... I just keep coming up with reasons to paint it white.) - heh'

I love a white FC too, but it needs something special, like a pearl to it. Plain white just seems like that to me, plain. Plus wheels for me can make or break a paint job.

Personally I'd stick with the original color, there are hidden spots that could be missed during respraying (depending on how well the work was done).
Red is an awesome color to be honest, I have seen several red FC that are done right, with mods like carbon fiber hood, front end conversion + flush headlights, clean body kit, a subtle GT wing, and gunmetal rims... almost made me want to paint my car red.

Red is fabulous, black is mean and white is classy.
would matte black suit the car?
refurbishing in leather will be done red paint -> beige int
black paint -> black int
white paint -> white int (cold as ice)
Rims are high gloss polished ALU 17" 235x40
so they kinda rule out the matte paint

In this day when the Sun is going Gaga due to "global warming"(NO I am not a tree hugger I just Hate heat!) You will Cook in a Black car.
I am In Ontario,Canada.
Last year the car inside was 150F.
This Year,I measured with the IR heat gun and got 174.2F.
Mind you I have a black interior too,but that Was soon rectified.I went nuts and tore out the black.Changed to Blue.

In all fairness, the red one wasn't a turbo or modified, so it didn't look sexy enough. Also, don't go matte. They are a BITCH to take care of. You have to use special wash and wax products, CAN'T go into a car wash, and have to use a special bra should you get one.

Windows and sunroof open all the time.... and gotta get the A/C fixed.
Blue is actually a very neat color, don't see many around.

I've been wanting a royal blue for a long time. Though I think a coupe would look better than a vert though in that color. I've also been a fan of the British racing green color too, or a forest green. I'm not a green person, but those are my 2 faves.

if i had an FC i would go with either Velocity Red (metallic red paint on rx8) or a pear white, cadillac makes a really nice pearl white, if you go with one of those i would just get it from the dealer, but as for paint brands PPG is very good and makes OE paint for alot of different companies, "House Of Kolor" is also very good. as for the effect of the paint the FC has really nice hard body lines and a high gloss metallic or pearl paint is really gonna set it off.
