Replacing wiring harness
I'm going to reuse my wiring harness while swapping engines on my '88 NA S4 convertible because the one on the replacement engine had been altered. It looks like I have to remove the intake manifold because some wires go under there.
Anything I got to watch for? Can I reuse my intake gaskets?

What are you swapping to. Are you keeping it S4 or going S5? Turbo or non turbo?
As for the harness, you will have to remove the upper intake manifold to hook up the injectors and route the harness. Was the old harness cut/unusable?

It's non-turbo and is a S4. The replacement engine came from a RX7 that is the same year and body type as mine so I expected that the wiring harnesses to be the same. The wiring on the replacement engine had been modified, I guess to accomodate some interior addon gauges.
I would repair it but for some reason the wire colors are not all the same but that may be because they are so dirty.
Right now, I've downloaded a FSM electrical section 50 and am going to see if I can figure it out.
