looking to buy an rx7

i found this rx7 at this used car lot. the guy said the owner garaged it for about 8 years. took it for a test drive and it ran pretty good. however, there was some kind of a burning smell coming from the engine and im guessing its from not being ran for so long. would this be normal ?

If the car has literally sat for 8 years, and was then just started up and driven, then massive damage has likely been done to most of the fuel system and possibly the engine.

This is some stuff you NEED to know before you commit to the car:

The burning smell could be anything. Maybe a mouse was living in/on the engine?

oh i see. i didnt know it was garaged for so long until after the test drive otherwise i woulda been skeptical about driving it. the fact that it ran pretty good stuck in my head about buying it. i ended up not buying it though. thanks for the info.
