ON relocated battery problem

Hey Lads,

I had relocated my battery over winter, and I am just getting around to finishing up now.

My issue is when I go to hook up the positive it sparks and melts the terminal post a bit. I used 4g wire and sanded down behind my grounds. I ran my positive wire straight to my starter and eliminated the stock positive connection by just capping it off

I'll try and get some pics up of the work i did to show you better of how i did it.

But any leads of what I should be looking for for would be great

Thanks

Well your suppose to hook positive up first then ground. If its sparking without ground even hooked up then your positive wire is probably shorted somewhere.

I'd double check the wiring. You shouldn't get a spark like that ,and enough to melt the terminals means that something is not right!
make sure that the wiring to the starter is right,as you can easily get confused when under the car.

disconnect the other end from the starter and see if that eliminates the problem. if it does, then ur connecting to the wrong place on the starter.

Exactly..that is what I was trying to say,but I wasn't sure that FD starters are like FC starters and have 2 Big lugs(12mm nuts)on the starter..ONE you attach the positive to,to feed the starter 12 volts(big gauge wire)
the other grounds the starter to the solenoid,AND THAT IS THE ONE YOU DO NOT WANT!
