losing trailing ignition won't cause that drastic of a power loss, if it was leading you lost i might agree.
your issue sounds like a clogged up carb or loss of secondary actuation in the carb. could be low compression also, if you haven't checked it yet.

Took the tank off last night and tried a lil experiment. Poured gas through the intake of the carb. All the way till it was almost pouring out the top. Completley flooded. Turned the car over with full throttle and she started.. after a few bits of it turning over. Before sputterin and dieing from no gas. There was something rattling around in the tank but i dont know what it is.. the fuel lines in the tank were rusted and the other thing that was electrical is still in the tank but the screws are rounded off so i cant take it out to see.

Its on the carb. In the middle of it when lookin from driver side. On mine it was a phillips screwdriver head. From what i can gather be careful bc these nikis carbs are really touchy.
