The reasoning for my gas pedal stiffness.
Hopefully this photo does me justice because I’m on the site with my phone. But I was just wondering anybody know why the previous owner added this spring thing to the throttle? It’s what basically makes my gas pedal so stiff when I’m stepping on the gas. I also wanted ask if there was suppose to be a few amount of plugs not plugged into anything if that’s common or not?

No I have not taken it off because I’m thinking that there has to be a reason why they did that. The previous owner himself didn’t really know. With the spring thingy on it idles around 750rpm.

I dont know about fuel injected RX's but I'm assuming the original throttle return spring broke or lost tension. As someone said, take it off with the car running ( in the driveway with the parking brake on!) And see if the original spring closes the throttle like it should.
There are generic throttle-return springs at any parts store for a few dollars a pack. Maybe a softer one would be just right. And you can look for a replacement factory spring in the mean time.
