Question Rear windshield wiper inop 83 rx7

Hi from a newbie,
The snow is finally gone so the old girl is getting some work. I'm getting 11.5 volts to the rear motor plug with no movement of the wiper motor so I think it might be bad. But, when I push the rear switch to on or to the wash position the front wipers activate. Is this normal for the fronts to work when activating the back window wiper/washer sw.

NY more wipers, me again

I determined that the rear motor is working by direct wiring. With it reconnected normally ,with the rear hatch closed, the rear wiper still won't work, but now the front wipers turn on all the time with the ignition on regardless of wiper switch position.

That right there sounds like a horrific wiring job has been done to it. What you need is a wiring diagram and i would start at the fuse box to the steering column then fuse box to rear.

Download the .pdf file....you're going to have to have adobe to read it so make sure its updated. Good Luck...hope that helped.

Lightbulb wipers

Thanks for the link to the diagram . I needed one. The wiring is all original. I'll see if this helps
