Re-Speed Brake Upgrade Question
Hi,
I've been reading and searching the forums quite a bit lately, but can't find the answer to this specific question.
I own a turbocharged 1984 Gsl-Se, giving me roughly 240 hp at the rear wheels. I'm still running the stock Gsl-Se brake setup front and rear and want to beef up the stopping power. From what I've been reading, the Re-Speed upgrade kit seems to be the most popular, and economical choice for upgrading to a larger setup. For now, I'm going to do the fronts only with some better pads on the stock rear rotors.
Getting to the question... I want to keep my 4 bolt rims, especially since I'm not changing the rear setup right now. I know that I can re-drill a Turbo II 5 bolt rotor to achieve the Gsl-Se 4 bolt pattern.
What I don't know is, do I keep my stock 4 bolt hub, or use a base model 2nd gen 4 bolt hub?
If I use my stock 4 bolt hub, do I need to use spacers between it and the Turbo II rotor?
Thanks
Dave

Not to veer you away from that choice but you had better Look at the comments left by others on that particular company in the "bad guy" section before you make any decisions.

Well, that made for some interesting reading. So... what other options exist that are similar to what Re-Speed provides?
I'm trying to do this project on a small budget, hence my interest in using as many off the shelf parts as possible.

It seems like Re-speed starting having issues when Billy left? Does he still make parts under another name?
I don't suppose anyone has the kit that no longer needs it?

I want to state that I am not trying to hinder anyone from getting anything here.Your decision is your own.I am merely stating that If you plan to buy parts off of another person you should research who you deal with.
That is why the Good & Bad section was developed, along with the Itrader score rating.

As a new member I am not able to read the bit about Re-Speed. I have been waiting for rear coilovers since mid October that I paid for. There has been some communication but no parts yet.

The respeed site has just the parts I would like at decent prices, I hope they can get their act together. I will keep watching but will not buy until positive results.
