Racing beat exhaust
http://www.rx7store.net/product_p/rbfullexhaust.htm
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this complete exhaust
setup, and does it actually increase horse power on a stock turbo II by as much as
it says it will with no other mods?
thankyou

Top Down, Boost Up

Tons of people use RB exhaust systems, including myself. It will increase power by as much as it claims because boost will increase as a side effect. If you do not have a fuel cut defenser, or something else that removes the fuel cut at 8.6 psi, the ECU will cut fuel to the rear rotor once boost gets too high. The boost level increases due to the stock wastegate being too small to contain the turbo once all the exhaust restriction is removed. This results in an unstable boost level, that will more than likely overwhelm the stock fuel system. In my experience, anything over about 9 psi on stock fuel will lead to a blown engine, so this is a serious concern.
If you do go with this setup, you will need to take one of two steps to allow a stable boost setting. 1) port the wastegate larger (http://fc3spro.com/TECH/HOWTO/ZWG/zwg.html) or 2) replace the presilencer with a catalytic converter (custom fit). The cat will re-introduce some exhaust restriction, and a help to prevent excessive boost creep.
