CO Quick question

I have an 1984 RX-7 that's a little rough, but is getting coaxed back to its normal self. The main annoyance however is that I have to push the engine to 3000 RPMs to get the car to move in first. This is a sharp contrast to every other manual I've driven where you ease off the clutch and push the gas. Would anybody happen to know what's causing this or how to fix it?

Thanks.

There is a adjustment on the clutch pedal that will allow you to change the throw on the clutch.

If you screw it in, it will allow the clutch to engage earlier.

well it isnt a screw, it is the rod that goes into the Clutch Master Cly, it is threaded on one end with a backup lock nut.

Loosen the Lock nut and turn the rod in to increase the clamping of the disc, turn it out to reduce the clamping power.

So you're saying my clutch disc is lose and therefore doesn't have enough grip to move the car when it connects to the engine?

I am saying, as the clutch is wore down the disc thickness is reduced (Just like a brake Pad) well unless you adjust the clutch with that rod the gap between the Pressure plate and Flywheel will not get smaller as well
