questions from a novice rx7 owner
whats up rotary heads..? i have a few questions about my 1987 rx7 non turbo... i have had it for over 2 years and its my daily driver. i have had to since replace the differential mount replaced once.. never really figured out why it needed to be replaced. i was told that i may need to have my rear end replaced... what do i need to look into??? also when im driving and coming to a stop and then stop, my cars rpms drop under 700 and makes my car almost stall out??? then when i somtimes idle, it raises to about 1200 and drops to about 800rpm and keeps going up and down??? if anyone could help me with these question i would greatly appreciate it... thanks for taking the time to help out a fellow rx7 lover... also if anyone is from so. cali let me know

Pulsing idle is going to either be a vacuum leak or the TPS.
You can find a writeup on testing/setting the TPS here: http://howto.globalvicinity.com/gv_w...i=58&co=1&vi=1
You can also increase the idle speed by adjusting the bypass screw on the top of the throttle body. Just make sure you jumper the initial set coupler before making any changes. It is the 2-wire green plug by the leading coil, and it will keep the ecu from compensating while you make adjustments.

Diff mounts get old and weak, so if a mechanic told you to replace it, that's probably why. A bad one will cause a "clunk" sound if the diff is able to move around more than it should.
To replace the diff...find a used NA differential (classified forum). Depending on your model, you may have an open diff or a LSD stock. Whichever you have now, opt for an LSD, as it is a better choice. They're totally interchangeable, as long as their from NA cars.
