question - FC starts wont idle

Welcome aboard!!!

Check the 2nd gen FAQ thread for 'Compression test' and 'Setting your TPS'. That should get you going in the right direction.

Check compression.

Make sure it's not flooded.

Check for vacuum leaks.

That may indicate the trailing coil is not firing while it's running. Check the connector around the CAS for damage.

I had the same problem man. Replace all the vacuum hose , they become so brittle over time. Check the AFM too, that usually the culprit as well.

Sounds not too bad... I was in over my head when I first got my FC, and had someone else fix it for me, too. If you want, once the mechanic tells you what needs to be done and how much it'll cost, come back here and we'll tell you if he's ripping you off.

well sorry that i haven't posted for a while, but my local import guy finally got a chance to look at it,it had a couple of loose wires and the idle control valve was sticking, now it's running on it's own for 85 bucks, not that bad,and he's waiting on a master cylinder to fix the brakes and an alternator, said all will be done for 600 including the tow.is that a decent deal?
