IL pullin teeth!

finding a good low mile body for my big block has been like pullin teeth !not having a ton of luck so -----ive changed my way of getting one now -and i hope some fellow rx7 people can help me out --what im lookin for now is an original low mile body prefer 87 mazda rx7 turbo 2 and ive found a few .i guess how im going to do it now is get a nice running car and sell the engine and trans at the same time .i have found 2 that fit the bill one has mods and one is bone stock each turbo cars .the one with the mods has an atkins built rotory in it and a garret turbo low miles on the motor ---so what kind of deal can i work on sellin the m+t it will be running and driveable so a person can test it out before i pull it --the other one would work the same way too but its stock ---wish i didnt have to do it this way but all i find is beat up cars otherwise --i have made it a point to ask for pictures of under the car and the main pinch weld and sub rails ---for some reason even though the car comes with a jack people i guess feel the need to distroy these cars with a floor jack ---i will not buy a car like that period!!!!---any input would be helpfull ---------thanks jason

The stock jack is unsafe for anything but changing a tire. Floor jacks are fine to use, just only jack on the differential and the front subframe.

As for the drivetrain, you can probably get $1500 for a TII drivetrain in good shape that was pulled from a well running car. A non stock setup, depending on the turbo, could be more or less. It may be more worthwhile to sell the non-stock setup individually. Sell the turbo and manifold, then the engine, etc.

It is a shame, however, to take a perfectly good RX-7, pull out a well running engine, and then swap in a big block. I'd say that about any car though (ie. it would be a shame to find a perfectly running Sunbeam Tiger and pull out the V8 to swap in a rotary).
