primary turbo not spooling on cold start up
primary turbo not spooling on cold start up
okay, i've got an issue where when my car is parked outside all night, it won't spool up properly when i drive it in the morning on my way to work. it does this thing where if i apply enough throttle to get close to 0 psi, the car bucks back and forth like a fuel cut off is occurring. only after driving for a good 10 minutes around town (sometimes longer) will it then spool up and boost as i apply the throttle. i'm predicting it has something to do with the air temperature or something, because my car spools up fine when i drive home after work (my company's garage is underground and heated). any ideas? the check engline light almost immediately comes on when i start it in the morning, but never when i start it to go home after work.
well the CEL still kicks on eventually after driving for a while and then when i come to a stop, it's because of the EGR valve (i have aftermarket intakes), this was confirmed by the shop that inspected the car before a i bought it. they said it wasn't an issue and that the only way to do it would be to disable the EGR or put hte stock air box back in.

Your car should have a double throttle system that prevents hard boost when it's cold.
Also, the bucking sounds like 3k hesitation. Run a search on that subject and see if other peoples descriptions match your symptoms. The only true cure for the 3k hesitation is an aftermarket ECU like a PFC.
