power steering opinions

on my 86 na i have a leakin power steering pump and it leaks out within a few days. i was thinking of pulling the power steering pump just because it usually about empty anyways. so should i do this (i ony drive it every few days for fun anyways) and would it be very differnt or is it choppy when like U turning and slow turns.(i have 18x8.5 inch rims and will that also effect turning with no PS pump ) so i just want some opinions about what yall think. i have a double pulley alt alrdy so belt contact shouldnt be no issue. thanks

My opinion:

Replace the pump with a non-leaking one. It will be very hard to steer especially with those big rims if you just remove it.

Hope that helps.
