i dont like autos so i would say no, however it looks like it's in decent shape. try to offer the 10k or 9500 whatever u feel is appropriate for it if you absolutely love it.

It still has the original engine not rebuilt. Do you think that 74k miles is too much. Or does it all just depend on the condition of it and how it was serviced?

If it passes a coolant seal test and compression check, and you don't mind having an automatic, it's not a bad deal. It doens't matter if his grandma drove it, FD engines can be shot at 75k miles or all gunked up in carbon buildup, so get things checked out first.

Not a great deal in my mind, but not bad.

I wouldn't pay more than 8-9k for an auto on the original engine with those miles.

Thanks for the responses guys. I wouldn't have to take it to a shop that specializes in rotarys just to get the tests done would I?

I agree on the auto thing. Part of the fun in the RX-7 is the stick. I do think the price is decent though and it looks to be in good shape. The miles are a little high, but depending on what kind of driving you're wanting to do with it, you might be alright. I have just over 80k on mine now. I am a little careful with it, but it still runs fine. It's hit or miss with the mileage. I'm hoping to get to the 100k mile range before I replace the engine, but I only put about 5,000 miles on it a year because I store it in the winter. Even so, engines aren't that outrageous to get replaced. Look online at prices to replace so you're prepared when the time comes. Look up the Blue Book value and see what it says, but I think it sounds like a good deal if you can handle the auto.

Car looks great. Decent mileage. The engine probably been spoiled, but I would pass on it since it's automatic. That defeats the purpose of a sports car.
