porting?

KS porting?

so I never really got super in to modifying my engine before I had to dump my old 7 was wondering if someone could explain what porting dose. i have heard it is basically like doing head work for a piston engine just would like a better explanation than that. thanks

Porting a rotary is actually much closer to changing the cam, say in a street port, and similar to changing the cam and the size of the valves with the bridge/peripheral port. The ports control the timing of intake/exhaust much like a two-stroke.
