Pool of water in factory jack section

The other day I was cleaning the trunk, and I found a lot of water where the factory jack would be located.

I thought it might be the trunk seals so I ordered one, but after some research I found that it might be the "tail light seals."

Is there any way I can use the rear hatch seal I ordered to repair/replace the tail light seal? Here's a pic of what I bought:

Ok..Neal state your car the next time I just won't approve it. (1987 S4)
Check this out too:If you lift the hatch up( unlock and lift) you will see a hole in each corner of the grooves that the hatch sits in,that drains water from that crevice and leads it through a clear plastic tube inside the car and then Out to the ground.
If that tube gets clogged the water will go inside the car.
Pull the Corner carpet moulding piece up too( that hides the very corner and rear light bulb sections) and look for any kinks in that hose.
You can always blow air in that drain hose or snake it with a metal rod(coat hanger).

My apologies..

I did the coat hanger thing and freed up the drains a few days before it rained. Seems like water still managed to get inside somehow.
