Please help, no brakes many new parts
Hello all please help shed some light on this.
My name is Dennis and im a new mechanic with a shop available to me. I specialize in computer diagnostics etc. since my car is a 1988 mazda rx7 base with no obd i cant diagnose problems the same way.
Heres my problem. My brake pedal is rock hard and its extremely hard to stop the car.
Sounds like a booster right?
Parts i replaced-
New pads
New rotors
New master cylinder from parts authority
New booster from parts authority
Caliper piston and bushings were NOT frozen and move in and out
Brakes bled using a machine that sucks fluid from the lines and pumps new fluid into master.
Vacumm line to booster to manifold was leaking and i put new washers. Car previously had a bad master cylinder leaking into the booster line. I blew air into the lines to clean them and smoke tested the brake booster and lines and it holds pressure.
Car has had airpump removed and some of the large 1 inch holes have not been capped off. After testing the holes they seem to be a light vacuum. Can those holes cause me a problem? What can be wrong? Please help.

Here is a couple of pictures of the holes that have slight vacuum that the previous owner left open. Also a picture of the car which obviously needs a paint job. Going to paint white with black trim and taillight housings
Another thing i noticed was that my coolant gauge basically reads H before the thermostat opens which i just replaced. the car literally overheats in 5 minutes idling then the thermostat opens and it drops down to a 1/4 of the guage. sounds like a bad coolant temperature sensor or gauge? My oil psi reads above 110 at all times so i know that sensor is out of whack.
coolant was replaced and coolant system is airtight with new thermostat. it was flushed the right way with the drain plug and burped 3 times

You put the vac line on backwards between the booster and hard line.It has a one way check valve in it.
If that hose is inverted you get ROCK hard brakes and no stopping power.

there is no vacuum line that goes to the booster and master cylinder? I mean i dont think there is. i have a 1/4 inch vacuum line that is shaped like a L that goes to the booster (top right of booster) which leads to a solid pipe on the firewall which leads to a S shaped rubber hose which then leads to a fitting with a banjo bolt and two copper washers that go into the intake manifold.

Ya,sorry that is the one,I mis-spoke.
it goes from the Booster to the hard line on the firewall.
Flip that hose.
The other hose at the engine is just is piece of hose, you need not worry about that one.
Trust me..I did this before..
