Lightbulb Please help low compression

Hi. I recently purchase a 87 rx-7. The car was automatic and they switch it to stick shift. My problem is that the car start but will not drive with any power. I took to a so call "RX-7 expert" and he said that the engine had low compression. What does it mean and how can i get the car running again. Thanks in advance.

Well if it had low compression (What where the reading?) then you will need a rebuild.

That is about all you can do.

Did he actually check the compression or is he just guessing? I suspect he was guessing. How many miles on the engine? If the car starts without extensive cranking, the compression is probably in an acceptible range. Find a good rotary mechanic and have a proper compression test done. Then post the numbers here along with the engine cranking speed during the test.
